author visit

On Thursday, May 14th at 7pm Katie Cross is going to be speaking about "Publishing and Writing 101" to those of you who have any questions about the writing and publishing process. She’ll be here covering the basics of the craft:
  • How to write a book
  • Editing (cost of, how to find an edit, what goes into the process)
  • Cover design
  • Publishing options (traditional, indie, small press) and how to go about them.
  • Anything else you want to know!

Katie is the author of The Network Series.
If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in attending, spread the word and Katie and I will see you there!

Teen Tech Month

Nationally libraries celebrate Teen Tech WEEK in March... but we've got so much planned, we couldn't pack it into just one week!!

We have cooked up a super-fun bingo card for Teen Tech Month that introduces teens to new technology as well as using the technology that they already use and love. Teens can win a basket of goodies just for playing bingo with us.

We have also mashed Teen Tech Month and Wednesday Night Events to offer teens and adults some fun programming this month:
  • March 4 - Game Night... Cribbage! We look forward to introducing the game to novices as well as to offer some "friendly" competition for experienced players.
  • March 11 - Journal Group... last month we wrote about travel, and this month the prompts are all about Spring! If you haven't come before, you're welcome to come with your journal, or make a new one to get started on this journey of journaling.
  • March 16, 17, and 18 - Vietnam Remembered... This 3-night reading-and-discussion program commemorates the 50th anniversary of the war. Books are available (but limited) at the Library.
  • March 18 - Crafter-evening... An Eleanor and Park-inspired cassette tape mini journal. Please register for this event at the 3rd floor (208.612.8462 or via email jhentzen@ifpl.org).
  • March 25 - Spring Break Crafternoon... Low-Tech bookmarks. Please register for this event at the 3rd floor (208.612.8462 or via email jhentzen@ifpl.org).
  • March 25 - IFPL Book Club, Chapter 2... The group is discussing A Sand County Almanac. Contact Jenniffer if you're interested in joining the group.
  • March 26 - Skype with YA author Robison Wells
Most programs begin at 7pm, except for March 25 Crafternoon that begins at 2pm.

See you in the Library!
